Working out is a session of vigorous physical exercise or training. This can be done in the gym or at home. Since we are in the middle of a pandemic we will focus on work outs that can be done at home without the use of gym equipment. Work outs or exercise that can be done with your own body mass are called calisthenics. These exercises develop strength, flexibility, endurance and coordination. These types of exercises focus more on the number of repetitions as opposed to increasing weights on a machine.
Here are some examples of calisthenics.
●Jumping jacks: This helps in balancing your heart rate and helps blood circulation. This makes it a good warm up before working out.
●Trunk twists: This helps with flexibility, it is also a good warm up.
●Pull ups: This helps strengthen your back, arms, shoulders, grip and improves your over all physical fitness.
●Push ups: This strengthens triceps, pectoral muscles, the lower back and core strength. It is effective for building strength quickly.
●Chin ups: This improves your grip strength, posture and overall appearance.
●Sit ups: This strengthens your core and hip muscles. It also improves balance and posture.
